According to the decree of the President dated November 18, 2024, a set of measures has been defined for socio-economic development, improvement of the investment climate, and support for entrepreneurship in Andijan region. Projects worth $2.5 billion have also been launched. Over the past six months, $850 million in investments have been attracted, and exports amounted to $465 million.
The President's April trip to Andijan region and the tasks he set have provided an additional stimulus for the region's development. Recently, with the participation of scientific experts and active entrepreneurs, a reform headquarters was created, which developed new proposals for the development of the economy and the social sphere.
At the presentation, officials presented the rationale and expected effectiveness of these initiatives.
For example, there are plans to create an innovative clinic using robotic technologies from Germany, Türkiye, and Japan. The investment volume is $40 million.
With the support of diplomatic missions abroad, negotiations are underway to attract €20 million from Italy for the creation of an agricultural cluster and €25 million from Germany for the construction of a modern agricultural logistics complex. More than 30 initiatives for the development of tourist areas have been formed in the city of Khanabad, Khojaabad, and Bulakbash districts.
In total, a portfolio of additional projects worth $1.1 billion has been formed. Their implementation will create 22 thousand new jobs and further increase exports by $200 million per year.
The President emphasized the need for an individual approach to each city and district in the region, as well as the importance of locating new projects in areas with the lowest inflow of investment. He instructed that training and employment be organized for the unemployed and needy families, and that measures be taken to transform mahallas into crime-free areas.
