President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The Azerbaijani leader warmly congratulated the Head of our state on his birthday, wishing him good health, prosperity, and new successes in his state activities in the name of sustainable development and prosperity of Uzbekistan.

The fruitful results of the historic state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan earlier this month were noted with deep satisfaction.

It was emphasized that the implementation of the agreements reached at the meetings of the leaders and the second session of the Supreme Interstate Council will serve to further strengthen Uzbek-Azerbaijani allied relations and expand multifaceted cooperation.

Trade turnover has increased by 30 percent since the beginning of the year. Work is underway to develop a portfolio of promising cooperation projects, including the creation of an industrial zone and a logistics company. An agreement on the division of production for a strategic project in the oil and gas sector has been signed.

Preparations are underway for major joint events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
