Immediately upon arrival in the city of Khujand, a meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The current issues on further deepening of bilateral relations of friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance in the context of the implementation of high-level agreements were discussed.

At the beginning of the conversation, the heads of state sincerely congratulated each other and the brotherly peoples with the sacred holiday of Ramadan Hayit.

With deep satisfaction, the highest level of Uzbek-Tajik multifaceted cooperation achieved was noted.

In 2024, trade turnover exceeded $700 million. Successful cooperation projects are under implementation in industry, energy, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture, and other priority sectors. Fruitful interregional contacts and active cultural and humanitarian exchanges are taking place.

The importance of developing measures to accelerate joint practical cooperation projects during the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was emphasized.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional issues, including the upcoming multilateral summits to be held in our country.
