The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met the Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, who has arrived on an official visit to our country, at Registan Square.

The world-famous Registan Square, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, is the main hallmark of our country, reflecting the creative potential of our great ancestors. The Mirzo Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillarakori madrasas of the ensemble leave a deep impression on guests of our country with their scale, rich history and unique architecture.

The high guest was informed in detail about historical facts of the construction of the oriental architecture's pearl, features of architectural decisions and decor, significant events and personalities associated with this place, as well as the cultural heritage of the Uzbek people.

During the conversation, it was noted that the city of Samarkand, rightly known as one of the ancient cradles of world civilization, is becoming an important international business and tourism center.
