The Tashkent Ring Road is the longest and widest street in the capital. Only the part passing through Mirzo Ulugbek district was narrow and did not withstand the current traffic - 45-50 thousand cars a day. Therefore, this road was extended and reconstructed.
The Head of state visited it and got acquainted with the created facilities for transport and pedestrians.
The road will connect the capital and several districts of the Tashkent region. In recent years, the load on it has increased significantly. With this in mind, modern transportation solutions are applied here. 4 kilometers of road are covered by asphalt concrete. The carriageway was significantly expanded and brought to 6-8 lanes. Also, 4 underground passages and pedestrian and bicycle paths were built.
Based on the best solutions, 3 turns and 18 points of convergence were organized. This will create convenience for drivers and will be an important factor in reducing traffic congestion.
At the intersection of Buyuk Ipak Yuli Street, a viaduct made of prefabricated iron structures has been built. This method, first applied in our country, has many advantages. In particular, its construction time is half as short as other bridges. The service life is more than a hundred years. Repair of the viaduct is also much cheaper.
Along the streets, a night lighting system with electronic control and intelligent traffic lights are installed. Thirteen stops were built. The roadside area is landscaped, and decorative trees are planted.
The President stressed that new roads and facilities are a worthy gift for Independence Day, and noted that creative work aimed at improving the comfort of life of the people will continue.
It should be noted that in the past year, 12,6 thousand kilometers of roads and about two hundred bridges were reconstructed throughout the country.
