Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the “Khitoy” makhalla in Fergana and got acquainted with residents’ life.
There are about 2.8 thousand dwellers here. Residents are effectively using their homesteads. Women earn money by sewing. Animal husbandry, poultry farming, and fish farming are well-developed.
There are more than ten shops, a furniture company, a barber shop, a sewing and handicraft workshops. Good conditions have been created for young people to do sports. Over the past two years, no crime has been recorded here.
The President visited Abdugaffor Khalilov’s house and sincerely spoke with makhalla residents.
“I am happy to be here, to see how the development of Fergana is going on, what conditions exist in the makhalla”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. – We organize all the work from the very beginning so that everyone can feel the reforms in their lives.
There are 1062 makhallas in Fergana Region. The problems and needs of families need to be solved on the ground, so that people would be happy with us. All leaders should change their worldview and work hard to serve our people with dignity”.
The elderly told how the appearance of the makhalla has changed in recent years and the infrastructure has been improved as part of the “Open Budget” program. In particular, 5 kilometers of internal roads were covered with asphalt, and the power grid and transformer were updated.
The President supported the proposals for renovating makhalla assembly building, constructing an additional facility for a school and gave appropriate instructions. It was mentioned about the importance of educating the youth, acquiring a profession and substantial organization of their leisure time.
