On April 27, on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al Jasser.

The issues of further deepening of full-scale cooperation with the Bank group as part of the new medium-term Partnership Program were discussed.

It was satisfactorily noted that at present the portfolio of joint projects exceeds $1.3 billion, covering priority sectors of the economy. Within the framework of the forum, agreements on the implementation of projects in the field of modernization of rural and transport infrastructure, development of preschool education in the amount of $400 million were signed.

A special attention was paid to expanding practical interaction and promoting specific projects in the field of supporting entrepreneurship and private investment, improving financial instruments, actively involving the Bank’s structures in project activities, as well as to expand technical assistance in the issues of our country’s accession to the WTO and the creation of an innovation ecosystem.
