On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

The Chairman of the Federation Council has cordially congratulated our President on his birthday, sincerely wishing a sound health, prosperity and success in his endeavour for the benefit and well-being of the multinational people of Uzbekistan.

The issues of further development and strengthening of the Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance were considered. The active inter-parliamentary exchanges, which facilitate the promotion of joint projects of multifaceted cooperation between our countries, were noted with satisfaction.

The importance of continuing a close and constructive dialogue in the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly was emphasized.
