At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will pay an official visit to our country on June 2-3 this year.

The negotiations agenda between the Leaders of the two fraternal countries includes the issues of further development and strengthening the Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship and good-neighborliness, as well as strategic partnership, expanding practical cooperation in priority areas of the mutually beneficial cooperation.

A special attention shall be paid to the promotion of joint cooperation projects in the trade, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, energy and other sectors, as well as the continuation of traditionally close interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

It is envisaged that the heads of states shall also exchange views on the current international and regional agenda.

Following the summit, it is planned to sign a package of bilateral documents.

It should be noted that in preparation for the high-level visit on May 30 this year in the city of Dushanbe under the chairmanship of the Prime Ministers of the two countries the Ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held. 

Tomorrow, on the eve of the summit in Tashkent it is envisioned to hold a business forum with the participation of leading enterprises as well as a scientific and practical conference on the consistent deepening and unlocking the great potential of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
