Following high-level talks, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the ceremony for the launch of the joint “Shavat-Dashoguz” cross-border trade zone.
The zone’s territory houses administrative buildings for the directorate, customs, quarantine, phytosanitary, and veterinary services, a trade pavilion, and warehouse facilities.
It provides public services based on the “single window” principle, interactive systems, banking, medical, and hotel services, and a spacious parking area.
The zone’s operation will facilitate the expansion of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan’s Khorezm region and Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz velayat, two key regions with a combined population of over 3.5 million people.
