During the visit to IT-Park, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the projects aimed at wide implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in the activities of ministries and agencies, as well as other sectors of the economy and the country’s social life. 

It was noted that today artificial intelligence is becoming one of the key drivers in such areas as economy, education, healthcare and security. These technologies allow to increase the effectiveness of public administration, ensure rational use of resources and improve the quality of services provided to the public. 

In the past years systemic reforms in this area have been implemented in Uzbekistan, thanks to which noticeable results have been achieved on the implementation of artificial intelligence. The Head of State underlined that these achievements are the result of the first steps undertaken in this field, and there is more work to be done ahead. 

In this connection, the President emphasized the necessity of active promotion of the initiatives on the development of artificial intelligence, acceleration of advanced solutions implementation and avoiding falling behind global trends.

During the presentation special attention was paid to the issues of applying artificial intelligence solutions in the economy and social sphere, as well as disseminating successful practices. It was emphasized that constant analysis of the domestic and international experience is required for the dynamic and sustainable development of this sector, as well as close cooperation with young specialists, international experts and private sector. 

One of the most important factors for the sphere’s development is preparation of qualified personnel. To accelerate this process a range of innovation education programs are being implemented in the country.

In particular, a project of “University – industry – international cooperation” cluster was presented. In the framework of this initiative it’s envisioned to raise the level of AI-literacy of the students, improve the qualifications of the teachers, develop curricula and prepare modern specialists for the sphere.

Additionally, an educational platform “AI Maktab” aimed at educating youth with digital skills and modern professions, was presented. With its assistance the participants can acquire remote education in various fields – from development of virtual assistants and digital marketing to AI-content maker and business analytics. 

The President underlined the importance of expanding such programs and attracting innovation potential of the youth to developing key areas.

Moreover, the attention was drawn to the expected results from developing scientific and education laboratories in the sphere of artificial intelligence. The current project implemented in this field by commercial banks were discussed. The necessity to develop such research and practical initiatives in universities of the country was underlined. 

The Head of State also got acquainted with the innovation projects of talented youth, including “PromptLab”, “Detecting-AI.com” and “KotibAI”.

It was particularly noted that similar programs and applications create wide opportunities for the increase of labor productivity, expansion of revenue sources and simplification of intellectual activity in both small and major companies. Currently the domestic developments are already being applied in financial institutions, construction sector and the creative field. 

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the initiatives and projects presented, giving recommendations and instructions on the acceleration of processes for the implementation of artificial intelligence.
