At the congress-center of the “Avaza” National tourist zone negotiations were held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in a narrow format and with participation of the official delegations. 

In the beginning of the conversation the Leader of Turkmenistan passed to the Head of our state sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. 

The President of Uzbekistan congratulated once again the leadership of Turkmenistan and the brotherly Turkmen people with the successful organization of the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in the beginning of this month in Avaza. 

Topical issues of further expanding and strengthening Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership in the context of implementing high-level agreements, were discussed. 

The dynamic development of mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas was noted with deep satisfaction.

Since the beginning of the year the trade turnover reached $700 million. Since February free trade regime is in force between countries, trade houses are working in the capitals. Cooperation projects in the sphere of industry, energy, transport, agriculture and water sector, and other economic fields, are being implemented. 

The joint work is near completion on the launch of “Shavat – Dashoguz” trade zone this year.

In the framework of preparation for the upcoming high-level meetings, the importance was noted on the effective organization of Intergovernmental commission and Business council sessions, and a range of cultural events.

The leaders also exchanged opinions on the agenda of the upcoming seventh Consultative meeting of the heads of states of Central Asia. In this context, the practical importance of the current talks in the format “Azerbaijan – Turkmenistan – Uzbekistan” was emphasized.
