On July 24, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. 

In the beginning of the conversation the leader of Tajikistan warmly congratulated the Head of our state on his birthday, sincerely wishing good health, welfare and success, peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Uzbekistan.

Issues of further development of Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance, primarily practical implementation of high-level agreements were reviewed.

The growth of trade turnover volumes and promotion of cooperation projects in various economic sectors were noted, including through the joint investment company. Work is underway on launching centers of cross-border trade. Direct flights were resumed between the cities of Samarkand and Dushanbe. Important cultural programs are being implemented. 

The leaders of the two countries also discussed the issues of regional agenda, including preparation for the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
