On July 24, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation.

The National Leader of Turkmenistan warmly congratulated the Head of our state on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, prosperity, and great success, as well as peace and prosperity for the brotherly people of Uzbekistan.

Topical issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership in the context of the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the summit meeting in Samarkand in April this year, were discussed.

The dynamic growth of mutual trade, deepening cooperation ties at the enterprise and business level, and continuing active cultural and humanitarian exchanges were noted with satisfaction.

An exchange of views took place on issues of the international and regional agenda, including preparations for the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries and the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
