The service sector to become the driver of Shaykhantakhur development

10.07.2025

The Head of State visited Yangi Kamolon mahalla in Shaykhantakhur district of the city of Tashkent.

The reforms implemented in our country enter each of the country’s mahallas. Here the attention is visible paid to employment of the population and increasing the quality of life. Multi-storey houses, shops and building of the citizens’ assembly acquired a modern look. The internal roads were strengthened, the territory was greened. A walking alley, leisure zone for the representatives of older generation, sports and children grounds were created.

Over 4,6 thousand people live in Yangi Kamolon mahalla. Local young people work in over 60 trade and service points. This year craft workshops, shops for the sale of agriculture goods and pastry, a bakery and a private medical facility were opened. As a result, the mahalla became a territory without unemployment.

Here information on the activities of the “reform headquarters” of the Shaykhantakhur district was presented.

- Craftsmanship in Shaykhantakhur has existed for many centuries. And today it is a strong source of employment and revenue for people. This is why we will adopt a new program of service sector development based on Shaykhantakhur example, – emphasized Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

To ensure public safety and prevent offenses, a situation center was created at the office of the makhalla inspector. Here, video surveillance cameras installed in the entrances of multi-storey buildings are connected, and security systems of internal affairs bodies are integrated. No crime has been registered in the mahalla this year.

The service company “Yangi Kamolon” serves 21 apartment buildings in the mahalla. Specialists and necessary equipment are in constant readiness. A billing system has been introduced. This year the central heating mains were insulated, electrical networks and entrances of residential buildings were repaired. New elevators have been installed in some houses.

The Head of State emphasized that in the future it is necessary to build multi-storey buildings of service companies, to accommodate vocational training courses for young people and household service points. A small library has been organized in the mahalla. The importance of their creation in other mahallas was noted.

A warm conversation with residents was held on the terrace of the mahalla.

- In recent years, many new enterprises have been opened in the country, the economy is growing. At the same time, the young generation is growing up. We should already think about their education, health and jobs. That is why this year we are attracting $8 billion of investment to Tashkent. New jobs, educational institutions and infrastructure facilities will appear in Shaykhantakhur with these funds, – said the President.

Representatives of the older generation living in the mahalla noted with satisfaction the changes taking place in the country and recited dua, wishing our people peace and prosperity.
