Achieved results and new projects in Namangan region reported

07.07.2025

On July 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the report on the effectiveness of ongoing reforms, progress of works and new projects in Namangan region.

In accordance with the decree of the President dated December 2, 2024, measures were defined for further socio-economic development of Namangan region, improvement of investment climate and business environment. In particular, for 2025 it was planned to attract investments worth $4.2 billion, ensure exports worth $1 billion, create 323 thousand jobs and lift 55 thousand families out of poverty.

The main factor here is small business and entrepreneurship: 82 percent of the working-age population of Namangan are employed in this sphere.

Since the beginning of the year, about $1.6 billion of investments have been attracted to the region. However, most of them were in Namangan city and central districts, while in such districts as Mingbulak, Naryn, Uychi and Chartak the volume of investments needs to be increased. In the area of exports, there is also a need to expand the range of goods and enhance the potential of remote districts.

The region's agriculture also produces high yields. Only in Yangikurgan district the income per hectare exceeds $20 thousand.

To maximize the use of these opportunities, administrative and economic reform of the territories was initiated by the President. A “reform headquarters” was launched in Namangan region, which included specialists, advanced entrepreneurs and foreign experts. As a result of their joint activities, additional projects worth $1 billion were formed.

At the meeting, the responsible persons presented these new opportunities. As it was noted, the implementation of these initiatives will lead to the creation of 12 thousand jobs, the receipt of 200 billion soums in the budget and exports worth $160 million.

For example, in Naryn district it is planned to introduce intensive method of fish farming in households, and in Mingbulak - development of duck farming. These areas are important from the viewpoint of food security and the creation of numerous jobs. The President emphasized the need to spread the experience to other regions of the country.

Currently, there are 55 thousand unemployed citizens and 44 thousand low-income families in the region. The objective is to orient them to master professions, help them find jobs and create a source of income right at home. Instructions have also been given to strengthen the social environment and turn mahallas into crime-free areas.
