On February 24, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi.
At the beginning of the conversation, the minister conveyed warm greetings and a personal message from Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said to the Head of our state.
Issues of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, primarily revealing the potential of partnership in trade-economic and investment-financial spheres were discussed.
The activation of interdepartmental and business contacts was noted with satisfaction. The volumes of mutual trade turnover and the number of joint ventures are growing, and business events with the participation of leading companies of the two countries are regularly held.
Special attention is paid to increasing the portfolio of the existing joint Investment Company through new cooperation projects.
The next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a joint business forum will be held in April this year.
In addition, the development of inter-parliamentary ties, cultural and humanitarian exchange, establishment of direct air communication was emphasized.
Exchange of views was also held on the regional agenda, including preparations for the second summit of the “Central Asia-Gulf Cooperation Council" dialogue, which will be held in May this year in the city of Samarkand.
