On October 5, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The Head of our State warmly congratulated the leader of Tajikistan on the occasion of his birthday, expressing sincere wishes for good health and further success, prosperity and well-being to the brotherly Tajik people.

The Presidents discussed current issues of Uzbek-Tajik relations in the context of implementing agreements at the highest level.

The importance of continuing close interagency cooperation and active exchanges for increasing trade turnover, promoting cooperation projects in industry, energy, agriculture and other priority areas was noted.

The leaders of the two countries also exchanged views on the emerging situation in the region.
