On August 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Natalya Kochanova, who is on an official visit to Uzbekistan.
The meeting focused on further deepening multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus, including the expansion of interparliamentary cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Natalya Kochanova conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to President Mirziyoyev.
The President of Uzbekistan expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation, noting the increased contacts and exchanges following the agreements reached at the highest level in February this year.
There has been significant growth in trade turnover, successful implementation of industrial cooperation projects, and the intensification of interregional business partnerships. Cultural and humanitarian programs are being regularly conducted.
The fruitful results of joint parliamentary activities, including meetings in the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the Second Women's Business Forum held in Tashkent, were highly praised.
The importance of continuing an intensive interparliamentary dialogue was emphasized, aimed at promoting specific cooperation projects between the two countries in areas such as trade, industry, agriculture, education, healthcare, and other priority sectors.
