On July 17, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of our State sincerely congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in the presidential elections and wished him great success in his responsible government post.

Issues of further development of Uzbek-Iranian relations, and expansion of practical cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and transport were discussed.

It was noted with satisfaction that in recent years the volumes of trade and cargo transportation, the number of joint projects and enterprises, the frequency of flights have been increasing.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements reached earlier at the highest level. The importance of promoting cooperative projects in the energy, chemical, agriculture, food and other industries was noted.

Relevant issues on the regional agenda were also considered.
