A fruitful Uzbek-Russian summit concluded.
A number of joint events were held as part of a state visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
On May 26, the Heads of state visited the “Yangi O’zbekiston” park together where the Russian Leader laid a wreath at the Independence Monument.
On May 27, high-level talks were held in a narrow and expanded format, during which the Presidents discussed in depth the whole range of topical issues on the bilateral agenda, heard reports from members of delegations on key issues, and exchanged views on international and regional issues.
A joint statement by the Heads of State was signed and intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents were exchanged.
Accompanied by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Vladimir Putin visited the Victory Park, laid flowers at the foot of the monument “Ode to Resilience” and got acquainted with the museum, which tells about the contribution of Uzbekistan to the Victory in the Second World War.
On the same day, the Presidents held the first meeting of the Council of the Regions of the two countries, which set the priorities for further strengthening the interregional dialogue and giving it new practical content.
Following the events of the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev saw off President Vladimir Putin at the Tashkent International Airport. The Heads of states warmly bid farewell to each other.
