President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed with a presentation on increasing tourist flows and developing domestic tourism.
Our country is rich in historical, cultural and natural attractions. The full exploitation of their potential will give a boost to the growth of the number of foreign tourists visiting our country throughout the year. Therefore, on the instructions of the President, measures have been developed for the effective use of tourism opportunities.
Thus, it is planned to establish tourist centres in 12 of the most attractive regions and cities for tourists. These centres, equipped with restaurants, cafes, health facilities and swimming pools, will operate 24 hours a day.
In resorts such as "Zaamin", "Chimgan", "Amirsay" and others, as well as in entertainment complexes, shops of international brands, national silks, souvenirs, jewellery and gold bars will be organized. To this end, it is planned to reduce the rate of land and property tax for entrepreneurs operating in tourist centres by 90 % until January 1, 2027, and to exempt the equipment and technology necessary for the production of jewellery and gold articles from customs duties until March 1, 2026.
In addition, the programme "One more day in Uzbekistan" will be implemented from this year. It provides for the creation of "republican tourist rings" linking tourist sites in regions, and "regional tourist rings" between districts and cities. The Committee for Tourism will maintain a unified register of tourist routes.
There are plans to implement the "Travelling in all seasons" programme. Events will be held to promote ecological, extreme, medical and health tourism in spring and autumn, water and resort tourism in summer and extreme and ski tourism in winter. The opening of the tourist seasons is marked by festivals.
Every two years in May, the International Fashion Week "Uzbek Silk Fabrics" will be held with a prize fund of 2 million dollars.
In order to promote the tourism potential of our country abroad, the institution of "Tourism Ambassadors" of the Tourism Committee will be introduced.
Measures will also be taken to support artisans, develop medical tourism and incorporate international experience into tourism education.
Preferential loans will be provided for the construction of campsites, yurts, eco-houses and hostels, as well as swimming pools in hotels. To support entrepreneurs, equipment and inventory for hotels and shopping complexes, swimming pools and water parks will be exempt from customs duties for 2 years.
The President approved these proposals and gave instructions for the further development of ecotourism and the creation of the necessary conditions for travel by people with disabilities.
