On December 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the report on the current year's activities and priority tasks for the next year in the field of youth policy.
In the past period, there have been activities in seven areas. 396,000 young people who require special attention from the state have been assigned to responsible managers, and 331,000 of them have been supported in developing their potential through individual work. In particular, 94,000 people were employed and 56,000 received vocational training.
The number of types of assistance provided through the "Youth Notebook" has been increased to 30, and the period for considering applications for assistance has been reduced from 30 to 5 days.
This year, on the recommendation of youth leaders, 338 thousand young men and women received material assistance worth 444 billion Uzbek Soums. In particular, student tuition fees were paid, and the costs of training in foreign languages and modern professions were covered. Unemployed young people were provided with work tools.
A youth employment programme has been implemented in every makhalla, providing jobs for 236,000 unemployed youth and 189,000 school graduates this year.
Since this year, the Five Initiatives Olympiad has been launched at 4 levels - between districts, schools, vocational training institutions and universities, with the participation of 12 million young people. A total of 623 sports grounds have been built in the makhallas of the winners of the Olympiad.
In order to support young talent, the first 24-hour "Creative Park" was opened at the Palace of Youth Creativity in Tashkent. Two million young people have taken part in the Zakovat game and other intellectual competitions.
The President was also informed about the organization of the Tudakul International Chess School in the Navoi region.
The school, equipped with modern infrastructure, is able to educate 1.7 thousand children and provide various activities for 7.5 thousand young people a year. All conditions have been created for holding international competitions, such as World and Asian championships and university games.
The President instructed to invite international grandmasters to the school, to attract talented children from remote areas, to organize short-term chess camps for them and to issue appropriate certificates. It was noted that the school should become a model and a methodological base for teaching chess to all secondary schools in the country, it is necessary to introduce digital solutions in the process of conducting chess lessons.
The priority tasks in the field of youth work for 2024 were also considered at the meeting.
A new approach to working with young people will be introduced in every region, ministry and agency. The types of assistance provided on the recommendation of a youth leader will be transformed, with the emphasis on training young people in modern professions.
It has been proposed to establish a Children's Organization of Uzbekistan to develop the skills, interests and talents of children and provide them with full support. The need to improve scientific and analytical work to study the problems of young people and to train promising personnel was noted.
Next year, measures will be taken to increase the number of young people learning foreign languages under the "Ibrat Farzandlari" project to 1 million and the number of young readers under the "Mutolaa" programme to 1.5 million. To this end, additional infrastructure will be built in the regions, and there are plans to create broader conditions for the meaningful organization of leisure activities and the realization of young people's talents and abilities.
