On December 2, during his stay in Dubai, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
On the Emirati side, the meeting was also attended by Vice President Mansour Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Saif Al Nahyan, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies and President of the COP28 Summit Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.
At the beginning of the talks, the Head of State warmly congratulated the leader and the friendly people of the Emirates on the occasion of their National Day, as well as on the successful organization of the Global Summit on Climate Change.
The sides discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda. The constant dynamic development of Uzbek-Emirati multifaceted relations was noted with deep satisfaction.
Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has increased by 30%, and the number of joint ventures and the frequency of direct flights are growing. The portfolio of joint projects involving leading companies from both countries totals $4 billion.
The sides underlined the importance of continuing active dialogue and thorough preparation for the forthcoming summits.
Mutual interest in further developing practical cooperation to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership was confirmed.
