On October 26, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairman of the Mazhilis (Lower House) of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov, who is currently visiting our country.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan conveyed sincere greetings and heartfelt wishes from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Head of our State.

During the meeting, topical issues on the bilateral agenda were considered. The consistent strengthening of Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance has been underlined with satisfaction. The indicators of mutual trade turnover and the number of joint ventures are steadily growing. Industrial cooperation projects are being implemented in the automotive, textile, electrical engineering, logistics and other sectors.

Particular attention was paid to the fruitful outcomes of today's first session of the Interparliamentary Council between the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Special emphasis is placed on the importance of further developing close interparliamentary relations for the full implementation of agreements at the highest level, the expansion of interregional cooperation and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The exchange of experience in legislative activities, the development of self-governing bodies and the promotion of youth, including the organization of visits by young delegations of parliamentarians, are highlighted as important directions.
