President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the “WBM Romitex” company in Romitan district.

The company has excellent potential. The cost of the project is more than $93 million. The complex’s territory is 20 hectares, including 7 hectares of production space. Advanced equipment from Türkiye and Germany is installed. Capacities for producing 25,000 tons of yarn annually and 1,000 jobs have been created.

“I am glad that such an enterprise appeared in the conditions of Romitan. The state helped with infrastructure, funds, and opportunities. The most important result is that a thousand of our women got a job, – Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

A great help for such enterprises was the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to support the activities of cotton-textile clusters, fundamental reform of the textile, clothing, and knitwear industry, as well as further increase the export potential of the sector” of January 10 this year. In particular, providing working capital through revolving lending ensured production stability.

In the project’s second stage, it is planned to launch the production of the finished fabric. Most importantly, this will create about 3 thousand jobs in rural areas.

The President instructed improving the quality and expanding the range of products, establishing exports.
