Your Excellency! 

I have received the sad news about the former Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Helmut Kohl’s passing, with deep sorrow. 

In our memory, Mr. Kohl will forever remain as world’s major political leader and an outstanding statesman of the FRG, whose name is inextricably linked to the most important political events in the world history, including the unification of Germany and creation of the European Union. 

He also made an invaluable contribution to formation and development of long-term partnership and friendly relations between our countries and people. 

Please accept my sincere condolences and convey sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Kohl, the entire people of Germany.
