The cluster was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on November 11, 2021. The capabilities of five machine-building enterprises were optimized, and a full-cycle cluster system was established on the basis of the Chirchik Agricultural Machinery Plant. For this purpose, new structures with a total area of 38 thousand square meters were constructed, and more than 35 thousand square meters of existing buildings were repaired.
The production capacity of the cluster is 15 thousand tractors, trailers, and other equipment a year. It creates jobs for 1 thousand people. Another important aspect is to expand the cooperation among sectoral enterprises and reduce production costs.
The cluster has recently manufactured its first domestic product, which is a universal tractor. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the first machines.
Besides, the production of a combine harvester is being launched. The importance of continuing work in this direction, localizing imported products and involving the private sector in this process was emphasized.
“There is a great demand for machinery in our agriculture. We need affordable, domestically produced, cost-effective machinery. This requires work on localization and production costs. If we do not supply dekhkans with affordable equipment, there will be no interest," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The President emphasized the importance of machinery maintenance.
It was underscored that the cluster should not only sell, but also service machinery.
The task has been set to create service centers and organize quality service by the example of Tashkent Region, to train young people to repair equipment free of charge.
The cluster pays a particular attention to the integration of science and production, and a modern scientific center has been opened. In cooperation with educational centers of German and Swedish companies, the cluster has established training of specialists in the form of continuous dual education. At the same time, students of higher education institutions get practical training in the cluster.
The President inspected the samples of products and conversed with specialists.
“At present, the volume of machine harvested cotton is approaching 50 % on the ground. For 6 months of this year we exported more than 550 million fruits and vegetables, and in the near future we want to increase it to 2-3 billion. There are many more projects in all sectors of agriculture. They need quality, affordable equipment to increase productivity and make people's labor easier," the President said.
The cluster pays a particular attention to the use of alternative energy sources. In particular, solar panels have been installed on an area of 20 thousand square meters. This could cover up to 30% of the cluster’s electricity demand.
