On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation.

The Kazakh Leader heartily congratulated the Head of our state on his birthday, warmly wishing health, prosperity and new successes, as well as peace and prosperity to the fraternal Uzbek people.

The two Leaders dwelt in detail on the issues of further expansion and deepening of good-neighbourly relations, strategic partnership and alliance.

They noted with satisfaction the productive outcomes of the regular meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tashkent and the joint Working Group in Astana.

The sides stressed the importance of continuing active efforts to increase trade turnover, promote cooperation projects in industry and infrastructure, as well as develop intensive humanitarian exchange through regular joint cultural events.

The parties exchanged views on issues of regional cooperation and reviewed the schedule of forthcoming high-level contacts.
