On July 19, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Crown Prince, Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud on the sidelines of the First Summit of Leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asia.

The Crown Prince warmly congratulated the head of our state on his convincing victory in the presidential elections and wished the multinational people of Uzbekistan peace, well-being and prosperity.

In turn, the Leader of our country expressed his sincere gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the created conditions enabling our citizens to perform Hajj and Umrah. 

During the talks, the sides considered the topical agenda of further deepening Uzbek-Saudi relations.

The parties noted with particular satisfaction the intensification of mutual contacts and exchanges.

The sides stressed the importance of the unconditional implementation of the agreements and contracts adopted at the bilateral summit in August last year.

Since the start of the year, the volume of trade turnover has increased by 20% and the number of joint ventures has doubled. The implementation of important projects in the "green" energy sector with the participation of the leading company "ACWA Power" has begun.

Major investment projects are being developed in the field of "green hydrogen", petrochemicals, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, medicine, tourism and other sectors.

There was also an exchange of views on international policy issues.
