On April 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov as part of the development of large-scale interregional cooperation with the Russian Federation.

The issues of implementing priority investment projects and further expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges were discussed at the meeting.

The high results of fruitful cooperation in recent years were noted with satisfaction. The volumes of mutual trade and investments are increasing. The chemical-industrial technopark "Chirchik" in the Tashkent region is successfully operating, and during this visit of the Russian delegation a new project - a technopark in Jizzakh region - has been launched.

In addition, large cooperation projects in the petrochemical industry and mechanical engineering are being implemented. The branch of Kazan Federal University in Jizzakh is expanding its activities.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising projects of business partnership in various sectors of the economy, the development of existing and opening of new industrial parks in other regions of the country, the adoption of cooperation programs in innovation, small business and information technology, as well as in the modernization of utility networks.

The active participation of companies and enterprises of Tatarstan in the delegation of Russian business circles in the International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Central Asia", held these days in Tashkent.

At the end of the meeting, the President stressed the importance of organizing systematic work to promote joint programs and projects on the basis of a "road map".
