President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Ishaq Dar, Minister of Finance of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Chairman of Parkistani side of Bilateral Inter-Governmental Commission, who arrived in our country on February 23 as part of regular meeting of the Commission.

Practical aspects of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, primarily in the implementation of projects in trade, investment and transport sectors have been discussed.

Ishaq Dar expressed his deep gratitude to the Leader of Uzbekistan for the opportunity of a meeting and conveyed greetings and good wishes of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, special attention has been paid to practical implementation of the signed important agreements on transit and preferential trade.

In addition, the importance of promoting concrete cooperation projects in diverse sectors of economy within the framework of intergovernmental negotiation agenda has been underscored.

The head of our state spoke separately on the need to develop road transport and accelerate the project for building a railway linking Central and South Asia through Afghanistan with access to Pakistani ports.
