Following the summit talks, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi have made statements for the media.
Our President has expressed sincere gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality to the Uzbek delegation on the ancient and unique Egyptian land. It was underscored that Uzbekistan is sincerely rejoice at the great achievements of the Egyptian leadership and the people.
During the talks, the leaders of these two countries have expressed a consensus on the fact that large-scale reform programs - the New Uzbekistan Strategy and the New Republic in Egypt - have much in common, and the work being carried out in job creation and poverty reduction, social protection of population and infrastructure development in cities is consistent.
“We strive to jointly build a solid bridge of cooperation not only between our countries, but also among our strategically important regions," President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has said.
At the meeting, the State Leaders thoroughly considered the issues of intensifying political consultations, expanding multifaceted cooperation in trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres and in the field of security.
It was particularly emphasized that existing huge opportunities and considerable potential of trade and economic interaction are not fully exploited, consequently, the need to use practical mechanisms and effective measures to boost trade was stated. The outcomes of business events, which took place on the eve of the visit, will also contribute to it.
The agreements on joint implementation of "green" energy projects, development of optimal transport routes linking the two countries, usage of free economic zones, organization of direct flight connections were reached.
Uzbek President once again expressed his commitment to create all conditions for Egyptian companies to implement mutually beneficial projects in our country.
It was agreed to continue the practice of active mutual support as part of international and regional organizations. The leaders agreed on the need not to weaken efforts to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan and to help the people of that country.
The two peoples have long-standing ties of friendship expressed in common religion, as well as common customs and traditions. In this regard, it was stressed that scientific and educational exchanges, joint studies of our mutual history and culture, the consolidation of young people's and creative ties will always be on the agenda of bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
In this context, a willingness to organize mutual visits of poets and writers, figures of art and culture was expressed.
The President of our country has put forward an initiative to establish a scientific friendship community of scientists from the two countries to thoroughly study and promote an exemplary life and scientific heritage of the great scholar Ahmad Farghani among young people.
In conclusion of his speech, the Uzbek President has expressed a strong confidence that the outcomes of Uzbek-Egyptian summit will raise bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level and endow them with a long-term character for the benefit of our amicable peoples.
