On February 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Jizzakh region to familiarize himself with socio-economic development of the region.
The first point of the visit program was a farm «Pakhtakor Elita Urugchiligi» in Pakhtakor district. The area of the farm is 100 hectares, 80 hectares of which are planted with cotton and grain, the rest is cultivated with soybeans, garlic and alfalfa.
During a visit to the Syrdarya region last October, the President gave instructions on the efficient use of land plots along the perimeter of the fields and the construction of field houses for the convenience of farmers and workers. The outcomes of this work can be seen on this farm. Mulberries, grapes, melons and legumes were planted along the edges of the field. A field house from lightweight structures has been built, with solar panels installed on the roof.
The President visited the house and conversed with the farmer's family.
In conversation with responsible officials of the agricultural sector and leaders of the cotton and textile clusters, instructions were given to increase yields and provide employment.
“Why did we give our wealth - the land - to the clusters? So that it can be used for the benefit of the people. From now on, the clusters must comply with the reforms and implement the state policy to reduce unemployment in their region through industrialization of agriculture, establishing enterprises and support of home-based work”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has said.
As it is known, land plots for agriculture are distributed to unemployed citizens in our country. This measure is designed to provide jobs for more than 13,000 young people in Jizzakh region.
“At one time, it was impossible to give people at least one hectare of land. And now, we have allocated 200 thousand hectares. Why? In order to ensure income security for people. Now the outcome depends on the coordinated work of both sides”, the President said.
Instructions have been given to ensure the interest of farmers, the implementation of growth points of the makhallas.
