On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Leader of Turkey cordially congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his birthday and expressed his sincerest wishes for good health, well-being and great success, as well as progress and prosperity for fraternal Uzbekistan.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated his full support for the decisive actions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to ensure stability and sustainable development in the country and the Central Asian region.

The current issues of bilateral cooperation and global politics were considered.

A special attention was paid to the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level, including on increasing the volume of mutual trade, accelerating investment projects in the energy sector, agriculture, industry, construction, modernizing tourist infrastructure, as well as enhancing humanitarian exchange.

There was an exchange of views on the development of the situation in the region. The practical significance of the initiative to launch multilateral consultations at the level of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Transport of Uzbekistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan was noted. The issues of holding a summit of the Organization of Turkic States in November this year in Samarkand were discussed.
