President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Light Industry and Logistics Center under construction in the Uchkuprik District of the Ferghana Region.

This complex is also a result of the initiative of the President. There are many entrepreneurs in Uchkuprik who have started a family business and provided jobs for their neighbors. However, they worked in an adopted environment that prevented business expansion.

During the previous visit to the region, the President talked to businesswomen and promised that a modern complex would be built for them. In addition, on May 27, 2021, the President signed a resolution «On measures to develop the production of light industry products, logistics and retail chains in the Uchkuprik District of the Ferghana Region».

To date, 15 hectares of land have been allocated for the Сenter and a multi-storey building is under construction. Three hundred and sixteen production shops, 336 stores and 560 retail outlets will be located here. The two logistics centers are being created. As a result, modern conditions will appear for hundreds of entrepreneurs from makhallas (the local residential community areas) such as Boboshbek, Bekmurod, Zigir, Palohon and Yakkamulla.

For example, more than 5,000 people live only in the Boboshbek makhalla. Their products are supplied to the regions of the country and neighboring countries through the Kokand market. Now, as a result of modern conditions, the geography of deliveries is expanding.

The President reviewed the activities of the sewing enterprises that have been launched here, the conditions created for entrepreneurs and buyers.

It is expected that the complex will produce products for 876 billion Uzbek soums per year, exports will amount to $18 million. In total, more than 7.7 thousand citizens can get permanent jobs.

Another textile enterprise is being built in the Kushtepa District. The factory, set up by «Global textile infinity» LLC, will have an annual capacity of 18 million meters of high-quality fabric and 10 million units of finished products.

The President instructed to increase the level of processing and increase the volume of production in the textile industry.

«At present, the market is uncompromising. In order to adequately compete, an entrepreneur must have a plan for at least five years, a quality guarantee, and his own reserve at cost», Shavkat Mirziyoyev has said.
