President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the «Usta Yusufjon nakkosh» family enterprise in Furqat District of the Ferghana Region.
The head of the enterprise, Mukhammadali Yunusov, is a worthy continuer of the traditions of the national school of woodcarving. His works have decorated many mausoleums and new complexes in our country. He was awarded the title of the People’s Master of Uzbekistan.
A «Pargori», «sharafa», «mukarnas» and «islimi» styles dominate Mukhammadali Yunusov’s work. The carved columns, chairs, plates, caskets and other masterpieces are always in demand.
The master has many students. Therefore, the enterprise is expanding and a new building is being built.
- Thank you for preserving the heritage of our ancestors, passing it on to the younger generation and providing jobs for young generation, said the President. - It is necessary to further encourage these types of handicrafts. They are a source of culture, education and economy.
The President has stressed the significance of setting up a school near this family-run business where along with folk crafts there will be in-depth classes in mathematics, geometry, physics and chemistry. The similar woodcarving centers have been instructed to be established in Tashkent, Samarkand, Khiva and Bukhara.
