The International Congress Center hosted a festive event in honor of March 8 – the International Women’s Day.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has warmly congratulated the women and expressed his deep respect to them.
«From time immemorial, our people have revered the sacred image of a Mother, a woman as an incomparable creation of the Almighty Allah, surrounds her with love and care,» - the President said.
As it is well-known, a measure of humanity and justice of any society and state is, firstly, the attitude and attention to a woman. A special attention is paid to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of women to achieve such a lofty goal as to ensure a peaceful and prosperous life for our people. The conditions for their career work, education, health and the well-being of their families are improving.
This work has been identified as one of the most significant areas of the Development Strategy. The videoconferencing held on March 1 has identified even greater opportunities for women. The corresponding post of the Deputy Prime Minister was re-established, the State Committee for Family and Women Affairs was created to ensure the systematic and effective implementation of these tasks.
The structure of the Committee shall also include deputy chairmen for women and family affairs of almost 9,5 thousand makhallas (the local neighborhood community areas) in the country, at each makhalla the position of a responsible official for resolving women’s issues is reintroduced. Therefore, a fair and effective system shall be formed that will deal with women’s problems and their daily concerns on an ongoing basis.
The National Program to Support Women’s Education for 2022-2026 shall be adopted.
At the initiative of the President, the Women Mentors movement is being created. It will bring together the authoritative and respected women in their ranks, which will be able to influence the formation of public consciousness and upbringing of the youth. Along with this, the Women’s Councils are being set up to effectively address women’s problems at all labor collectives.
In order to further increase the number of women working in the field of entrepreneurship, «The Women in Business» Program will be adopted, as a part of which the funds of 8 trillion Uzbek soums will be allocated.
In addition, the women will receive a 40% subsidy for mortgage loans. This will provide the women in need with 12,000 modern apartments this year.
The funds in the amount of 15 trillion Uzbek soums are allocated for the implementation of this unprecedented large-scale work for our country.
«The issues of women and the family are a key task that determines our not only today, but also tomorrow. Every good deed in support of our women, the keepers of the family hearth, personifying love and selfless devotion, shall undoubtedly return a hundredfold tomorrow,» - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The President has addressed all the women of the country and called on them to actively participate in the huge transformations:
«Today we have entered a new historical era of comprehensive development of our country. Introducing children to great goals, educating them based on the noble ideas is the main duty of all mothers in Uzbekistan».
Irrefutably, the upbringing of a young generation with high human qualities, courageous and high-spirited, devoted to the Motherland, depends primarily on you. This is the most important investment in the future, our greatest wealth.
According to the Decree and Resolution of the President of Uzbekistan of March 5 this year, a group of women were awarded honorary titles, orders and medals. The 28 girls were awarded the Zulfiya State Prize.
The solemn presentation of these awards took place at the festive event.
«Once again, I sincerely congratulate all of you on the holiday of spring, beauty and tenderness. I wish all of you the greatest joy in the world - to see the happiness of your children and grandchildren. A sound health, prosperity and well-being to you!» - said the President.
The women attending at the event, working in various fields in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the city of Tashkent and regions, employees of various ministries and departments celebrated the holiday around a generous table. The women diplomats representing foreign states and international organizations also attended the event.
The festive event continued with a bright concert.
