President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Shumanay Ecotex enterprise at the Shumanay District.

The company, commissioned in 2020, is capable of producing more than 7 thousand tons of yarn per year. Last year, the products amounting to 51 billion Uzbek soums were produced and exported for $5 million.

Prior to this, the biggest problem in the area was unemployment. The enterprise, having created 500 jobs, has made an important contribution to the employment of local residents, especially women.

The President got acquainted with the technological process and products, talked with employees. The responsible officials are given instructions on developing the next stages of cotton processing.

“In order to avoid unemployment in the district, there should be three or four such enterprises. It is necessary to implement projects in other areas of industry," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

Another presentation of the activities of the “BahromIlgor Cluster" LLC took place at the site. The laser leveling of 743 hectares of land was carried out in the cluster. A drip irrigation technology has been introduced at 100 hectares of land.

“We strive to create sources of income for the population, to increase the gross production. What do we need for this? First of all, the water. However, in the conditions of Karakalpakstan, accounting for water and land is especially relevant. If you use it sparingly, carefully, there is enough water. To do this, it is necessary to improve the culture of agriculture, introduce innovative technologies,” the President said.
