On October 26, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan.
At the beginning of the conversation, Prime Minister Imran Khan has warmly congratulated the President on the successful completion of the election campaign and a landslide victory in the presidential elections, sincerely wished peace, well-being and prosperity to the friendly people of Uzbekistan.
The President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan noted with deep satisfaction the steady tendency of progressive development of bilateral cooperation.
The productive meetings during the Tashkent Summit in July this year have made it possible to bring the Uzbek-Pakistani multifaceted relations to the level of strategic partnership, filling them with a concrete substance.
A notable increase in the indicators of mutual trade and the scale of industrial cooperation of the leading companies of the two countries was especially noted. The new projects and programs of cooperation in investment, banking, finance, transport, communication, humanitarian and other spheres are being worked out.
The sides have also exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan. The importance of consolidating the international efforts to promote peace and socio-economic development in this country was underscored.
