On October 25, 2021, the Central Election Commission announced the preliminary results of the presidential elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In this regard, the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People - the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan held an event in the «Humo Arena» complex. The activists and party supporters took part in it.

The audiences viewed on the monitors the online broadcast of the press conference of the Central Election Commission on the preliminary results of the elections. According to final results, Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev won the presidential election, gaining 80.1% of the vote in the elections. Those present at the event met this message with delight and stormy applause.

We can say that the vote was a reflection of the broad support of the people for the course of reforms and transformations, the results of which are clearly felt in our lives, the embodiment of the confidence of our citizens in the future. Over the past five years, under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the unprecedented large-scale work has been accomplished. The spirit of transformations reached every sphere. In accordance with the Action Strategy on the five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the most important administrative, legal and economic reforms were implemented in 2017-2021.

During this period, the country’s economy grew by 24%, industry - by 34%, exports increased to 1.5 times, foreign investment – to 3 times. The country’s gross domestic product reached $60 billion. The average monthly wage increased 2.2 times.

The broad opportunities have been created for the development of regions, the expansion of industry and the services sector. There are hundreds of enterprises and factories, thousands of new jobs. In short, a lot of creative work has been done.

The practical performance, human interests are at the forefront of reforms. The socially oriented programs have been implemented. A big attention was paid to the development of science, education, healthcare, culture and art, the media and sports.

In the run-up to the elections, the New Uzbekistan strategy was developed designed to consistently continue this work, bring up the development of the country and the life of our people to a new level. The goals and substance of the program were widely communicated to voters during election meetings, and citizens believed in the success of the strategy.

Speaking at the event, Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked our people for their trust.

«The trust of our great people – a great happiness to me! I express my deep gratitude to all my party members, our young men and women, dear mothers and fathers for the high trust and support they have given me. This faith gives me a strength. In addition, at the same time, I feel with all my heart how huge a responsibility it is», - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It was noted that many difficult trials have to be overcome in this troubling time, and our people, rallying with their inherent hard work and dedication, are achieving tremendous success.

«What challenges we have passed in the last five years! They have hardened us. Brought us closer together. We have come together. Today, the world saw again, what a united people are capable of», - the President said.

It was emphasized that the presidential elections, held for the first time based on the Electoral Code, were conducted in the spirit of democracy, openly and publicly.

«Observers came from many countries, major international organizations. They could visit any poll station of their choice and saw the conditions created, made sure that they care about their future, they actively participated in the elections, came to vote with their families. This demonstrates the spirit, mood and political culture of our people. At local meetings, the people make topical proposals for each area, their own city or district. The criticism also sounds. This is also the result of the fact that our lives have changed, democratic reforms are being carried out. I want to say again: there is no way back. Now Uzbekistan will only move forward», – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The President thanked all foreign and local observers, members of the Central Election Commission, district and precinct election commissions, representatives of the media.

He also expressed appreciation to the candidates who had participated in the presidential elections from other political parties.

«They also strive to develop Uzbekistan. Therefore, we will certainly take into account in our program their proposals, which were to the liking of our people. Yesterday we were competitors, but now we need to act as a single fist. I promise to exert all my strength and potential to justify the high trust of our people, to realize their dreams and aspirations, to ensure a prosperous life. We will all build a new Uzbekistan together», - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
