On September 20 the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The state and prospects of development of the Uzbek-Kazakh relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership are considered.

The current high dynamics of multifaceted cooperation was noted with satisfaction.  The volumes of mutual trade and cargo transportation are growing , air traffic has been fully restored.  The cooperation projects are being successfully implemented in various sectors of the economy.  The importance of further building up interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchanges were emphasized.

The sides have also exchanged views on the acute international and regional agenda taking into account the situation in Afghanistan.
