On September 16 the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev left for the capital city of Tajikistan – Dushanbe, to participate at the events of the meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The summit will be attended by the leaders of Member States, the observer states and SCO dialogue partners, the heads of delegations of international organizations.
At the meeting of the Council of Heads of States, the Organization’s activities over the past 20 years and the outcomes of Tajikistan’s chairmanship will be considered and urgent tasks of multilateral cooperation will be discussed. An exchange of views will take place on the issues of global politics and the regional agenda.
It is envisaged that at the end of the Summit the Dushanbe Declaration will be adopted and a number of other documents will be signed. An important event will be the transfer of the chairmanship of the SCO to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It is also planned to hold a meeting in the SCO-CSTO format.
