On August 30 the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron.
The acute issues of the bilateral agenda and regional cooperation were discussed.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President of France has warmly congratulated the Uzbek Leader and the multinational people of Uzbekistan on the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence, sincerely wishing peace, well-being, great success and prosperity.
The Leaders considered the practical aspects of the Uzbek-French relations. In particular, they have discussed the implementation of the road maps in accordance with the agreements of the Summit in Paris in October 2018.
Currently, with the participation of leading French companies, the priority projects are being implemented in the mining complex, in the field of energy, industry, transport and communications, modernization of public utilities, the development of tourist clusters and other areas. A long-term program of financial and technical cooperation was adopted with the French Development Agency.
In order to promote the joint initiatives, a regular Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business Forum with the participation of a representative French business mission was held in Tashkent in May this year.
The agreement was reached to hold a number of joint cultural events at a high level, including an exhibition of the richest cultural and historical heritage of our country in the Louvre Museum in the first half of next year
The Presidents exchanged views on the development of the situation in the region in the context of the escalation of the military-political situation in Afghanistan. The importance of establishing interactions and intensifying exchanges on the issues of ensuring regional security and stability was emphasized.
The telephone conversation between the Leaders of Uzbekistan and France took place in a traditionally business-like and friendly atmosphere.
