On August 23, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon.

The two Leaders considered the current agenda of the Uzbek-Tajik strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation.

A special attention was paid to the issues of regional interaction in the context of evolving situation in neighboring Afghanistan.

The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan stressed the importance of continuing the active inter-agency contacts on the practical aspects of ensuring regional security and stability.
