On July 24 the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Leader of Turkey has cordially congratulated the President on his birthday, expressing sincere wishes for a sound health and great success, as well as well-being and prosperity to the multinational people of Uzbekistan.
The extensive exchange of views took place on the topical issues of the bilateral agenda.
The active mutual contacts and exchanges observed in recent years were noted with satisfaction, contributing to the dynamic development of the Uzbek-Turkish multifaceted cooperation. Since early this year, the trade has almost doubled, over 230 new joint enterprises have been established. The important cultural and humanitarian programs are being implemented despite the consequences of the pandemic.
The Presidents reviewed the schedule of upcoming events and emphasized the importance of thorough preparation for the Second Session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council to be held in our country by the end of this year.
The practical aspects of regional partnership, including in the context of the deterioration of the situation in Afghanistan, were also discussed.
The outcomes of the Tashkent International Conference on Strengthening the Regional Connectivity of Central and South Asia were highly appreciated.
