On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has had a telephone conversation with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The President of Turkmenistan has warmly congratulated our President on his birthday, expressing sincere wishes for peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Uzbekistan.

The topical issues of further extension of the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership were considered.

The dynamic development of multifaceted cooperation between our countries was noted with satisfaction, primarily in the trade, economic, transport, communication, cultural and humanitarian spheres. They reached the agreement to hold the next meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission.

The Presidents have also dwelt on the preparation for the Consultative Meeting of the Presidents of the Central Asian Region, which will take place on August 6 this year in the national tourist zone «Avaza». The Leaders exchanged views on the agenda and the program of the upcoming event.

The President of Turkmenistan has also sincerely congratulated the Leader of Uzbekistan on the successful holding of the High-Level International Conference in Tashkent on Strengthening the Connectivity of Central and South Asia. It was emphasized that the productive results of this Forum will serve as a good basis for promoting projects of practical interactions in a vast region.
