On July 16 as a part of the Tashkent International Conference, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The topical issues of the Uzbek-Turkish multifaceted relations were discussed at the meeting.
The President noted with satisfaction the productive and intensive nature of relations with Turkey. The regular dialogue between the leaders of the two countries helps to enhance the ties of friendship and strategic partnership, filling bilateral cooperation with specific substance.
Mevlut Cavusoglu conveyed the warm greetings and wishes of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the President of Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, a special consideration was given to the preparation and holding of the second meeting of the Council for Strategic Cooperation of the top-level.
A substantive exchange of views took place on the regional agenda, including the situation in Afghanistan.
The importance of close interaction on the issues of achieving lasting peace and economic recovery in this country was noted.
