On July 5, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance were discussed. The sides also had exchange of views on the current international agenda.
The Leaders have noted with satisfaction the current dynamics of the development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, primarily in the trade and economics.
The Presidents spoke in particular about the development of the situation in the Central Asian region due to the deterioration of the situation in the northern regions of Afghanistan. An agreement was reached to continue the regular contacts and close cooperation through authorized agencies and organizations of Uzbekistan and Russia.
