President Shavkat Mirziyoyev gets acquainted with the constructive work carried out in Tashkent and the activities of enterprises.
A year ago, the President got acquainted with road and overpass project that will connect the Sergeli District with the center of the capital. On December 26 last year, a bridge on Kipchak Street, which is an important part of this road was opened. Currently, a new road and another bridge to Choponota Street are being built starting from this bridge.
The length of the bridge over the Small Ring Road and the Salar Canal will be 788 meters, and with the ramps - 950 meters.
The President became acquainted with the construction process.
The structure is being built applying advanced engineering solutions and prestressed concrete technology. This increases the construction’s resistance and safety. In particular, work is being carried out without interrupting the traffic on the small ring road and the railway.
«This is an inexpensive, reliable, convenient technology for our people. Looking to the future, we will build bridges in many more places. Therefore, it is necessary to bring specialists and students here, show them the process, teach them modern technologies», said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
A new six-kilometer road is being built from the bridge to Kipchak Street. A tunnel will be built at the intersection with the Tashkent ring road. In that way, Choponota Streets in Chilanzar District and Kipchak Street in Sergeli District will be connected.
In the meantime, the vehicles moving from the Sergeli District to the city center and back mainly use one road – Yangi Sergeli Street. Therefore, the traffic jams occur here on a regular basis.
The new six-lane bridge and the road will have a capacity of up to 12 thousand vehicles per hour. As a result, the traffic congestion in the Sergeli District will decrease by 50%, and the travel time will be reduced by 20-25 minutes.
The energy-saving street lights will be installed along the roads. The green zones, sidewalks and bicycle paths will be created on the vacant lots.
There was also a presentation of a project for the development of roadside infrastructure along the New Uzbekistan Street of Kibray District in the Tashkent Region.
